It is issued in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR. MacroDrivers™ is a trading name of Sach Capital Limited. MacroDrivers uses first-party local storage, Google Analytics (consent-gated), and affiliate attribution storage. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. Affiliate attribution storage is categorised as Attribution/Marketing under PECR and requires your consent.
Technologies we use
We use the following first-party browser storage entries: (1) md-theme (localStorage) — remembers your light or dark theme preference; (2) md-cookie-consent (localStorage) — records your cookie consent choices, including whether you have consented to Analytics or Marketing/Attribution storage under PECR; (3) md_popup_* (localStorage and sessionStorage) — records whether you have dismissed or subscribed via an email popup, with sessionStorage used for once-per-session frequency control; (4) md-onboarding (localStorage) — records whether you have completed the onboarding walkthrough; (5) md-affiliate-attribution (localStorage) — stores a cryptographically signed first-party attribution token when you click an affiliate referral link. This is categorised as Attribution/Marketing storage under PECR — its principal purpose is referral and commission attribution rather than providing a service you have explicitly requested. It requires your Marketing/Attribution consent and is only written after you have provided that consent. The token is signed and cannot be forged; (6) md-affiliate-locked (localStorage) — records that your affiliate attribution has been locked to your registered account, preventing duplicate locking. This is also Attribution/Marketing storage and requires the same consent. sessionStorage entries are cleared when you close your browser. localStorage entries persist until you clear your browser data. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
Strictly necessary storage
Authentication and session tokens are strictly necessary for the platform to function and cannot be switched off. These are managed by the platform infrastructure, which may use cookies or other browser storage mechanisms. The specific cookie names are determined at runtime by the platform and cannot be statically listed here. They are removed when you log out or clear your browser data. The cookie consent storage (md-cookie-consent) is also strictly necessary — it records your consent choices and is required to operate the consent mechanism itself. These storage entries are exempt from the consent requirement under regulation 5(3) of PECR because they are strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by you.
Appearance and notice preferences
Your theme preference (md-theme) is stored in local storage and falls under the appearance and functionality exception in PECR — it does not require consent. The cookie consent entry (md-cookie-consent) is a first-party functional preference that records your consent choices, including whether you have consented to Analytics storage. It is strictly necessary for the operation of the consent mechanism and does not require consent under PECR. It does not track you, access other information on your device, or share data with third parties. You can change your theme at any time using the theme toggle, or clear any of these entries by deleting your browser data for MacroDrivers.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
MacroDrivers uses Google Analytics, a third-party analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics stores analytics cookies and device identifiers on your device. This storage is categorised as Analytics under PECR and requires your consent — we do not load or activate Google Analytics non-essential tracking before you have provided Analytics consent through our cookie consent manager. Email click tracking
When you click a link in a MacroDrivers email, we may record which link you clicked using a signed, secure redirect. This helps us understand which content is useful. No personal data is exposed in the link URL, and the redirect destination is verified by a cryptographic signature. You can object to this by unsubscribing from marketing emails. This processing is based on our legitimate interests in understanding content engagement and improving our communications.
Managing your preferences
You can manage or clear all local storage at any time through your browser settings. To clear data for MacroDrivers: in Chrome, go to Settings → Privacy and security → Site Settings → macrodrivers.com → Clear data. In Safari, go to Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → macrodrivers.com → Remove. In Firefox, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → macrodrivers.com → Remove. Clearing your browser data will remove all preferences and require you to re-consent. You can also reopen the Cookie & Privacy Settings dialog at any time from the website footer to change your Analytics consent.
